Form deck is a non-composite deck that provides an economical, permanent base that supports concrete during the pouring and curing process. Form deck does not interlock with the concrete to form a structural composite floor system, limiting span distances between structural supports. Form deck offers the benefit of removing the time and installation hassle associated with temporary shoring systems such as wood. Form deck is good for short span conditions and for use when a metal deck is used as a leave-in-place form.
