Allegiant Stadium Project – Home of the Raiders
Project: Allegiant Stadium – Home of the Las Vegas Raiders
Location: Las Vegas, Nevada
Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada opened its giant front doors for the first time on June 3rd, giving people the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the Al Davis Memorial Torch located inside. The torch is made of carbon fiber and aluminum and stands 85 feet tall, spanning multiple stadium levels. It will not be an actual flame but instead will be lit by a combination of lights. The stadium is nearing completion and hopes to open for the 2020 football season this August.
Due to COVID-19 mandates, the team has been moving into their training facility just a mile away in Hendeson, Nevada, bumping the full-on move to Vegas a bit ahead of schedule. With the progress in the stadium’s production, it looks like the transition will be smooth and the facility will be ready when they arrive.
While COVID-19 has complicated the overall build process, workers have put in maximum effort to make this project see it’s near-completion. “The least important thing in life is the score at halftime,” owner Mark Davis remarked. “Until you get the job done, you just don’t know. When we do that ribbon-cutting (ceremony) you may see me wipe a bead of sweat off my brow.”
