Prime Shield®
Prime Shield factory applied primer on steel deck is available in a standard gray primer and is applied to both the top and underside of the steel deck. The primer is suitable for use in many UL fire rated assemblies. The galvanized steel deck with prime paint option may eliminate the need for any special surface preparation for field applied paint applications, saving on labor costs and time.

Venting
Some materials in the roof assembly may require venting of the steel roof deck, such as roof systems with light weight insulating concrete. Venting does not impact the performance of the steel deck. The requirement for venting the deck should be clearly indicated in the specifications and be clearly stated in the deck schedule on the structural drawings. Deck should not be specified as vented when it is not required.

Die Set Ends (Swage)
Die set ends allow for the roof deck to be easily end lapped to increase the diaphragm stiffness. The die set swages the top flange and webs of the steel deck which allows the top sheet of end lapped deck to nest tightly over the bottom sheet. Die set ends affect detailing and layout of the steel deck.
